What is Hamlin Homecoming?
Come join fellow Hamlin parents at the first school-wide adult social and fundraising event of the year! This day-to-evening event offers something for everyone - no golf skills or knowledge required, and you need not play golf to participate! Play a full 18 or leisurely 9 holes on the course, hang out at parent-sponsored themed holes, enjoy lawn games and pizza at our afternoon tailgate party, and/or dine and dance the night away at our evening party. Each option promises ample time to reconnect with friends, meet new Hamlin families, and indulge in tasty food and libations – culminating in a fantastic dance party.
What if I’m not a golfer?
Don’t let that stop you! This event is fun for pros and amateurs alike, and is all about supporting Hamlin and having fun together as a parent community. Even if you are a first time golfer, this is the perfect opportunity to gather some friends and give it a try.
Not interested in playing golf? No problem – there are plenty of other opportunities to attend and participate:
- Play games and enjoy refreshments and pizza at our afternoon tailgate party. Free to attend!
- Join other parents from your grade level on the course as you compete for most spirited themed hole! We have three 2-hour volunteer shifts in order to accommodate as many different parents and schedules as possible: 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., 1:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m., and 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Look for information on signing up in the coming months.
- Join fellow Hamlin parents for dinner, drinks, and dancing at our evening party!
- Make an underwriting gift to support our girls and Hamlin!
I’d like to volunteer but I need to pick my daughter up from school in the afternoon. How can I make it work?
Not to worry! Hub and After 3 will be FREE for all volunteers on the day of the event and is available until 6:00 p.m.
How does this event support the school?
The Fall Fundraiser is one of only two fundraising events the Hamlin Parents Association puts on each year. Your participation contributes much needed financial support to the Parents Association's annual gift to Hamlin. Last year, the Parents Association raised $620,000 through this and other initiatives thanks to the generosity of the Hamlin community!
What is underwriting?
At Hamlin we love hosting community-building events throughout the year: not only do they bring the Hamlin community closer together, but they are also a critical part of our fundraising efforts that help support the school’s operating expenses. Underwriting supports the Parents Association in our efforts to raise crucial funds for financial aid, faculty enrichment, and innovative programs at Hamlin.
Are there any other fundraising aspects of the event?
In addition to underwriting and ticket sales for the event, Hamlin Homecoming will feature a Raise the Paddle effort during the evening dinner portion of the program. Raise the Paddle is a fun, fast-paced, auction-style round that raises funds for a specific, targeted need at Hamlin. Event attendees are invited to “raise their paddle” at whatever amount is most meaningful to them. And don’t forget that many employers will match any charitable contributions made by their employees – and it can be an easy way to double (or even triple or more) your gift to Hamlin!
Sounds fun! When and where is it, and how can I attend?
Hamlin Homecoming will take place on Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Presidio Golf Course. Tee times begin at noon at the Clubhouse (box lunches will be served at 11:30 a.m.), then you’re invited to return to the Clubhouse to continue the fun at our evening party at 6:30 p.m. Our afternoon tailgate party will take place from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on the lawn just in front of the Clubhouse - it's free to attend and open to all in the community!
Ticket sales go live on Tuesday, August 13! You will be able to purchase individual tickets for golf or the dinner party, or a combined ticket for both.
What should I wear to the evening event?
Attire for the evening party is casual. For those on the course during the day, please feel free to come as you are.
How can I get involved?
