What is a Count Me In?
A "Count Me In" (CMI) is an event that draws on a family’s or group of families’ own interests and/or expertise. It can incorporate any strength, interest, or hobby that you bring to our special community. You design the event by choosing the activity, the date and location, the target audience (e.g., children, parents, just your class, all classes, etc.), the number of attendees, and the price. Parents will have the opportunity to peruse the full catalog of Count Me In events and sign up for those that they are interested in online starting in January. Count Me Ins are a great way to strengthen our community by allowing us to participate in shared experiences with other parents and families within our school.
CMI Process
If you have an idea for a Count Me In or would like to host or help plan an event, the first step is to fill out this interest form. A member of the CMI committee will then follow up with you to get more information and to finalize details. Depending on the type of event, you may be asked to fill out a donation form – more information will be provided later if one is needed.
The date of the event should be set in advance. Please refer to the Hamlin school calendar to ensure the date you are considering does not conflict with a school-organized event or holiday. All potential dates will need final approval by the CMI Auction Chairs.
Event organizer(s) should commit to coordinating all arrangements leading up to the event and on the day of the event. This might include tasks such as registration or any adult supervision that may be required, depending on the type of event.
Timeline
Parents who plan to host a CMI should plan to submit an interest form by March 1. Once events are reviewed and approved, they will become available for parents to view and sign up for in the online auction. However, if parents need more time to organize their events, the CMI Auction Chairs will still accept CMI submissions past March 1 and offer sign ups for those events on a “rolling basis.” The period of time to host an event should be between March and the end of 2019.
